Welcome

Welcome: Business and Professional Development prospectus 2009/10

I am delighted to welcome you to our Prospectus of Business and Professional Development courses for 2009/10.

The range of courses offered in accounting, management and information technology, continues to expand in response to requests from employers, individual learners and the local community. Whether you are just commencing your studies or seeking to enhance your existing skills and knowledge to help you with career progression, we are able to help.

With the recent appointment of an Employer Responsive Manager within the College we are well placed to support employers, during this challenging economic climate, in identifying training needs and possible funding available.

As our first cohort of Higher Education students celebrate their success and graduate with a Foundation Degree in Business and Management, we continue to develop our Higher Education provision at Richard Huish College. From September 2009, students on the Foundation Degree in Business and Management will be able to specialise in accounting, marketing or management modules during their course. In response to local and regional demand and the College’s excellent reputation for sport in the South West, we are also offering a Foundation Degree in Sports Development and Coaching from September 2009.

Rowan House is a welcome addition to our teaching and learning environment and enables us to provide a dedicated resource and study and social centre for students on business and professional courses. The friendly, supportive and tranquil teaching and learning environment is consistently praised by our learners.

Our success continues to be an outcome of our ability to deliver an excellent and personalised programme of study for every learner,

I look forward to welcoming you to the College and your course,
Best wishes for your future studies with us

Dr Peter Avery
