FdA in Sports Development and Coaching

 

Richard Huish College is offering in partnership with UCP (University College, Plymouth) Marjon, a FdA in Sports Development and Coaching starting in September 2009.

A Sports Development and Coaching FdA gives you the learning and workplace experience to help kick start or further your career in sport.  It is designed with employers within the sports industry, and combines academic study with work place learning to equip you with relevant knowledge and skills to ensure you are ready for employment or to further your studies.

Course Content:

The programme is primarily concerned with increasing participation within sport and active recreation so every individual can achieve their full potential.  Sports participation can be in pursuit of excellence, taking part for fun, or to address wider social issues.  The programme comprises of academic, practical and work-based learning experiences.

Year 2 Modules:

  • Coaching Theory and Practice
  • Practical Sports Development
  • Research and Analysis in PE and Sport
  • Practical Learning in Coaching, Teaching or Sports Development
  • Managing Events

2 Years full time, with 3rd year top up to full Bachelor degree available at UCP Marjon, Plymouth.
